These products are available as greases, oils, pastes or dry coatings and are state-of-the-art solutions in the field of lubrication for long life, friction and wear reduction.
To accomplish this IKV uses a wide range of materials suitable for their tribological properties as well as for their compatibility or inertness with other materials. The result is a range of products containing approximately 500 formulations, which are capable of solving most all tribological problems encountered.
IKV realises the products must also meet application requirements and has, therefore, adapted its packaging to meet these requirements. IKV is part of a group, which has been in existence for nearly 100 years, a staff of 250 dedicated employees and a fully equipped in house laboratory with the latest equipment and a large production facility.

Wheel Flange Lubricants
Our in depth development work has enabled us to develop specialist lubricants for all areas of wheel-rail contact including universally applicable wheel flange lubricants as well as lubricants for the rail flanks, designed for use with special application equipment and techniques.
Switch Point Lubricants
Switches are probably the single most important elements of rail-borne transport because they enable a change from one track to another. They provide the rail system with the necessary flexibility. Switches are among the railway industries most sensitive element because malfunctions result in delays and penalties for maintenance companies. Current travel safety criteria also depend upon switch reliability due to the increasingly higher speeds reached by modern trains.
Fish Point & Dry Slide Lubricants
IKV-LUB PE 1429 is a dispertion of PTFE added to a combination of semi-synthetic base oils and is used extensively as a lubrication for fish points. IKV-LUB 1429 has high load carrying capacity & exceptional resistance to the weather and contamination.
IKV-LUB 1429 contains a solvent carrier which ensures that it penetrates under the switch rail and other inaccessible areas. It then serves to break down corroded materials and other deposits. The PTFE then forms a lubricating film that repels water, brake dust and other contaminants. It resists temperatures up to 250°C and has excellent inertness and greatly reduces the friction co-efficient.
IKV-LUB 1429 was designed for the rail industry but is also used on chains which are subject to large temperature ranges. It reduces the build-up of dust & dirt due to the thin, barely perceptible lubricating film. It can be applied by brush or spray.
Electrical Contact Greases
Overhead Lines, Pulley Bearings and Cables
IKV ARMIGRAS H-2/BM is a bentone thickened mineral oil based grease (non-melting) with added Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) which is used on overhead lines. It is a medium to high viscosity oil with bentone thickener and is reinforced with Molybdenum Di-sulphide (MoS2) as a boundary lubricant and EP additive. It is non-melting and ideal at high temperatures.
Fan Bearings
IKV are specialist in lubricants for critical fan bearings in tunnel applications. Our product range includes fire resistant products including ZAROX TYA512 which is a PFPE / PTFE grease that has been developed specifically for the lubrication of bearings and components at extreme high temperatures and in harsh environments. It is based upon a very high viscosity, extremely thermally stable PFPE oil, thickened with high grade PTFE and with the addition of a special corrosion inhibitor. The product is totally non-toxic and includes only NSF H1 approved ingredients as required by the food industry.
PFPE/PTFE greases have become the industry standard for the lubrication of critical high temperature bearings. The long life and exceptional stability of these greases allows maximum life with long periods between lubrication intervals.
ZAROX TYA512 can massively extend re-lubrication intervals over conventional greases and is available in a wide range of packs and sizes.
ZAROX TYA512 has been specifically developed for the lubrication of bearings running at extreme high temperature and under heavy loads. The product is also ideal for applications requiring chemical resistance or resistance to solvents, acids or radiation. It is also completely compatible with plastics and elastomeric seal materials.
